Job Description

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Handling litigation matters relating to intellectual property disputes;
  • Managing trademark searches, applications, oppositions, refusals, renewals, assignments, and related filings;
  • Advising clients on copyright, trademark, patent, and brand protection matters;
  • Drafting pleadings, legal opinions, written submissions, letters, and other legal documents;
  • Representing clients before the courts, tribunals, and relevant regulatory bodies;
  • Responding to queries, objections, and refusals issued by relevant intellectual property authorities;
  • Conducting legal research and providing practical, commercially focused legal advice;
  • Liaising with clients, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders.


Requirements

Applicants should have:

  • Been called to the Bar and be in good standing;
  • A minimum of 5 years’ post-call experience;
  • Demonstrable experience in litigation and intellectual property practice;
  • Practical knowledge of trademark registration, opposition proceedings, refusals, copyrights, and patents;
  • Strong drafting, research, advocacy, and analytical skills;
  • Excellent communication and client management skills;
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Candidates with strong hands-on experience in intellectual property filings and IP-related disputes will have an added advantage.
