Digital Content Writer

Position Overview:

Nollywood Reinvented (NR) is seeking a talented and motivated Digital Content Writer to join our dynamic team. As a Digital Content Writer, you will play a key role in creating engaging and informative content related to African cinema, particularly Nollywood films. You will contribute to our mission of fostering meaningful conversations about African storytelling through film.

Responsibilities:

• Produce high-quality written content on a regular basis, including movie reviews, web series analysis, news articles, opinion pieces, and more.
• Collaborate with the editorial team to develop and execute a content strategy that aligns with NR’s goals and audience preferences.
• Conduct thorough research on Nollywood films, web series, industry trends, and related topics to ensure accurate and up-to-date content.
• Write content that adheres to NR’s unique style, tone, and voice, engaging readers and encouraging them to join in discussions.
• Proofread and edit content to ensure clarity, coherence, and grammatical accuracy.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate fresh and innovative content ideas.
• Engage with readers and respond to comments on published articles, fostering a sense of community and encouraging dialogue.
• Stay informed about developments in the Nollywood and African cinema landscape to contribute timely and relevant content.
• Collaborate with the team to optimize content for SEO, social media, and other digital platforms.
• Adhere to deadlines and manage time effectively to ensure consistent content delivery.
• Contribute to the growth of NR’s online presence by actively participating in social media engagement and promotion.

Qualifications:

• A strong passion for Nollywood and African cinema, with a deep interest in movies, web series, and pop culture.
• Excellent writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Proficiency in English language, grammar, and punctuation.
• Ability to conduct research and synthesize information from various sources.
• Familiarity with content creation tools such as Google Docs, WordPress, and Canva.
• Basic understanding of SEO principles and social media platforms.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team.
• A creative mindset with the ability to generate unique and engaging content ideas.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Previous experience in content writing, blogging, or journalism is a plus.
• Flexibility to work remotely and attend occasional team meetings or events.

Compensation:

N5 per word compensation.
