Dispensing Technician

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive and review prescriptions for completeness and accuracy.
• Assist the pharmacist in preparing and dispensing prescription medications.
• Accurately label, count, measure, package, and prepare medications.
• Maintain accurate patient and prescription records.
• Process insurance claims and payment transactions where applicable.
• Monitor stock levels, receive stock, and remove expired products.
• Maintain proper medicine storage conditions.
• Provide professional customer service and refer clinical queries to the pharmacist.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with pharmacy regulations.
• Assist with audits, inspections, and health and safety requirements.

Qualifications:

• Diploma, HND, or Certificate in Dispensing Technology, Pharmacy Technology, or a related health science field. Registration with the appropriate regulatory body where applicable.

Experience:

• 1–3 years of experience in a retail, hospital, or community pharmacy.

Skills:

• Knowledge of dispensing procedures, attention to detail, communication, customer service, organization, computer literacy, and integrity.
