Electrician

Job Summary

The Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment across the College to ensure a safe, functional, and uninterrupted learning and working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical faults promptly and efficiently.
• Carry out preventive maintenance on electrical systems and installations.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and regulations.
• Respond promptly to electrical maintenance requests and emergencies.
• Maintain records of repairs, maintenance activities, and materials used.
• Report major faults and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
• Support other maintenance activities as assigned.

Person Specification

Qualifications

• Trade Test Certificate in Electrical Installation required.

Experience

• 1–3 years' practical experience as an Electrician, preferably in a school, commercial, or residential facility.

Knowledge & Skills

• Good understanding of electrical systems, wiring, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret basic electrical diagrams.
• Knowledge of electrical safety procedures and best practices.
• Good problem-solving and fault diagnosis skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
