The Mobile Crane Rigger reports to the Engineering Supervisor – Lifting Equipment & Trucks and is accountable for executing rigging and related activities in compliance with the Code of Safe Practice for the use of mobile cranes. The role ensures lifting operations are conducted safely and in full compliance with regulatory requirements, primarily LI2182, as well as AngloGold Ashanti Ghana (AGAG) safety, environmental, and operational standards. All work is to be executed in accordance with detailed task instructions and applicable Government of Ghana and AGAG safety and environmental requirements. Work according to total quality management principles and ensure zero defect objectives and safety. Apply HSE regulations with zero tolerance to breaches. Demonstrate safety behaviour consistent with AGAG’s vision and values. Continuously seek opportunities to improve design and field safety performance. Accept personal responsibility for own health and safety and that of every worker affected by the work. Adhere to the site Environmental Management Plan. Comply with AGAG environmental management standards and all legal requirements. Take action to prevent environmental pollution. Follow operating procedures and environmental rules for assigned tasks. Correct or report observed environmental deviations and make suggestions to improve environmental management. Follow established procedures for incident reporting. Attend training, development, and performance improvement sessions as required. Execute rigging and related tasks in compliance with Government of Ghana and AGAG regulations. Conduct daily pre-start inspections of rigging gear prior to lifting operations. Escalate and report anomalies, including shortages of rigging gear. Assess all rigging gear required for lifting or securing loads. Provide information to support the Maintenance Planner in closing work orders in SAP after lifting operations. Minimize waste of resources where practicable. Carry out work cost-effectively. Execute work in a timely manner. Perform all activities within the safe working envelope. Take proactive measures to address symptoms of potential failure. Report and escalate issues directly to the Supervisor. Stop equipment operations if they are unsafe or presents a high risk and report immediately to the Supervisor. Comply with maintenance management systems and standard operating procedures. Execute tasks based on approved lifting plans, procedures and standards. Sign off work orders and complete required documentation. Comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including environmental and scheduled maintenance requirements. Attend daily safety meetings and other meetings as prescribed by the Supervisor. Participate in annual and mid-year performance appraisal sessions. Be available for audits and assessments relating to lifting equipment and ancillaries. Attend all scheduled training and career development programmes. Ensure adequate inspection and testing before handover of completed work. Comply with approved change management processes.
